The Columbus Instruments Opto-Varimex product-line and accompanying Auto-Track software is a position monitoring system for small laboratory animals. The Opto-Varimex products use infrared beams to locate a subject’s center of area and the Auto-Track software uses those positions to analyze behavioral state and other parameters.

This is the initial release of the all-new Auto-Track software. For a complete list of new features and operation instructions, see the new Instruction Manual.

The highlights:

  • Support for Opto-Varimex 4 and Opto-Varimex 5 units
  • Initial support for 8 arenas (more coming soon) for up to 2 days
  • Compatible with existing legacy Opto-Varimex configuration files
  • Create Zone Maps for analyzing activity in different areas of an arena
  • Generates results in time and zone-based bins
  • Creates an event list of all relevant activity in the arena for further analysis
  • Supports Hole-Poke experiments
